COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced a drug arrest that was made after a traffic stop on June 12.

CCSO said a traffic stop done by a Douglas Police officer led to the arrest of Clemon Carter, Jr.

According to CCSO, Carter was driving with a suspended license, a violation of Georgia Code O.C.G.A. 40 5 121.

When Carter arrived at the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, officers found a small amount of suspected cocaine concealed in Carter’s sock. The Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit was then called in.

Carter was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance under Georgia Code O.C.G.A. 16 13 30.

CCSO said Carter remains in custody at the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center.
