AUGUSTA, Ga. (WALB) — Authorities are asking the public for help locating a 40-year-old inmate who escaped from the Augusta Transitional Center on August 3 around 5 p.m.

Christopher Craig, who stands approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 192 pounds, has tattoos on his arms and a shaved head. Authorities said Craig has ties to Brooks County.

Charges and public safety warning

Craig faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, escape, and drug charges.

Authorities said the public should not approach Craig. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.
