(Gray News) - Emmy-winning actress Susan Saint James has died. She was 80 years old.
Saint James, who starred in “McMillan & Wife,” “Kate & Allie” and “The Name Game,” died Monday after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, according to People.

Her family said she was “generous with her time and energy, which she valued more than money, and instinctively drawn to whoever needed lifting up,” in a statement to People.
Saint James “never met a stranger” and “taught her children to pause, be kind and look out for other people,” her family said.
“Every person she met became the most important person in the room at that moment, from a fellow board member to the clerk at the shoe store, who usually walked away knowing her entire life story,” her family said.
After retiring from Hollywood in 1989, she made appearances on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Suits.”
She was married to longtime NBC executive Dick Ebersol for 45 years. In 2004, their 14-year-old son, Teddy, died in a plane crash in Colorado.
Saint James received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2008.
