Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A disturbance to our west has provided enough energy in the atmosphere for shower and thunderstorm development this evening. However, it will move out of the region overnight, allowing for shower chances to diminish for parts of the next week. Tonight, mostly cloudy skies and a few areas of patchy fog are possible—lows in the 70s.
Monday starts dry, but our typical summertime pattern of afternoon and evening pop-up showers and storms continues. Coverage will be isolated, but flash flooding, lightning, and gusty winds cannot be ruled out. Highs will be in the upper 80s and low 90s. Heat index values will climb toward the mid-90s.
The rest of the week, including Juneteenth, features more heat, humidity, and isolated showers. Rain chances will be lower during the middle of the week as high pressure system moves in. If rain chances fall, then heat and humidity will become the main concern, leading temperatures to feel like the triple digits for many days ahead.
