ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Georgia-based insurance provider Aflac is stepping up security after hackers accessed the personal data of more than 22 million people.
That includes Social Security numbers and contact information of customers and employees.

The breach happened in June but Aflac said it confirmed that personal data was likely included in early December.
Since June, the insurance provider said it has been offering free credit monitoring and identity theft protection.
