TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - The Tallahassee Police Department is urging residents to come forward with evidence, no matter how small, as they continue to investigate a shooting Saturday night that injured 12 people.
TPD Chief Lawrence Revell said in a press conference overnight that 12 people were injured and 11 were shot on Perry Street Saturday just after 8 p.m. Six people are currently hospitalized and one is in critical condition as of Sunday morning.
Six of the victims were adults while six others were minors, with the youngest being 11 years old. TPD reiterated there are no fatalities.
Revell said in the press conference that no arrests have been made and there is no person of interest.
“We will determine what happened, identify those responsible, and get answers for all of the victims, their families and everyone impacted by this tragedy,” Revell said in the Sunday press release.
TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit has reportedly been working through the night, pouring through digital evidence to find answers. Officers are also at the scene Sunday collecting evidence and searching the area. Florida A&M University (FAMU) advised students in a social post Saturday night to avoid the area to allow TPD to continue their investigation.
“We need our community’s help. No detail is too small, and no piece of information should go unreported. If you know something, please share it with our detectives. Your information could be the key to holding those responsible accountable,” Revell said.
People can submit tips at this dedicated tip hotline: 850-891-4610, or remain anonymous by calling Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS. There is also an evidence submission portal where people can share photos, videos and other information that can assist in the investigation.
