[UPDATE: 4/28/2026 @ 1:10PM] - VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - WALB has now confirmed that portions of I-75 in Valdosta are back open after being shut down for hours following an early morning crash.
Details surrounding the crash have not been released at this time, and we are still working to learn more information.

[ORIGINAL: 4/28/2026 @7:54AM] - VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Drivers heading out this morning are being urged to avoid a stretch of Interstate 75 in Valdosta following an overnight crash.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, I-75 is shut down from Exit 18 to Exit 16 after a crash reported around 2:30 a.m.

Lowndes County Schools say buses are avoiding Exit 18 if traveling southbound and officials have recommended families and others in the area do the same.
Details about what led to the crash and whether anyone was injured have not yet been released. We have reached out to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) for more information.
