THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Police are investigating a shooting that left one person seriously injured Friday in Thomasville, according to the Thomasville Police Department.

The incident unfolded at about 11:30 p.m. in the area of 1 Hunters Chase Circle after officers responded to a call of a person being shot, the police department wrote in a press release Tuesday.

Authorities arrived on the scene and found a female with a gunshot wound, police said. Officers did not clarify whether the female was a teen or an adult in its statement.

However, police did say that she was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

There’s no indication of an ongoing threat to the public, according to police.
