ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Dougherty County Police Department (DCPD) is bringing extra smiles to the community this holiday season with a little help from some furry friends!
Through PetSmart’s “Chance & Friends” holiday campaign, DCPD received a generous donation of plush stuffed animals. The nationwide initiative encourages shoppers to purchase and donate cuddly toys, with a portion of each sale supporting PetSmart Charities, an organization that helps both pets and people in need.

This year, the kindness didn’t stop there. DCPD decided to pay it forward by donating the plush toys to the City of Albany’s Recreation and Parks Department, ensuring that children and families at upcoming community events will enjoy a little extra holiday magic.
DCPD said, “These toys will be shared with children and families at upcoming community events, helping to spread joy and comfort throughout the holiday season.”
From store shelves to smiling faces, this community partnership is proof that teamwork and a few plush pals can make the holiday season a little brighter for everyone.
