FORT VALLEY, Ga. (WGXA) – Homecoming week is in full swing for the Peach County Trojans! The celebration kicked off Thursday evening with a spirited parade through downtown Fort Valley.
Crowds lined the streets, waving gold and black as floats, the marching band, and community groups showed off their Trojan pride. The excitement builds ahead of the big Homecoming football game this Friday night, when Peach County takes on the Bainbridge Bearcats.
Coach Westbrook and the Trojans head into the matchup with an undefeated record of 7-0, and fans are hopeful the team can keep their winning streak alive.
But the celebration doesn’t stop there—students will cap off Homecoming weekend with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Peach County High School Cafetorium.
Parade coordinator and cheerleading coach Shaniqua Caldwell, a 1997 Peach County graduate, says the event is about more than just football—it’s about community spirit.
“I’m a 1997 grad of Peach County High School and so, therefore, wanted to keep the tradition alive for the community, for the students’ pride and morale of Peach County High School,” Caldwell said.
The Trojans’ Homecoming game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Friday night.
