ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A South Georgia man was convicted in federal court on seven drug counts faces a mandatory minimum of a quarter of a century in prison, according to officials.

Lucis Lamar Williams, 42, of Pelham, was convicted on four counts of distribution of methamphetamine, two counts of aiding and abetting the possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Williams was found guilty on Nov. 6 following a four-day trial in Albany before Chief U.S. District Judge Leslie Abrams Gardner.

Sentencing for Williams is scheduled for Feb. 26, 2026, when he faces a mandatory minimum of 25 years to life in prison.

Court documents reveal the case against Williams resulted as part of a drug-trafficking investigation in Pelham conducted between September and December 2022. Authorities said in a series of controlled buys, Williams sold methamphetamine to an undercover or confidential informant.

The United States Attorney’s Office Middle District of Georgia said this is Williams’ third felony drug conviction.
