PERRY, Ga. (WALB) — Perry police said a mail and check fraud ring targeting residents has led to multiple arrests with more suspects on the run, according to a press release dated June 12.
Since early September 2025, checks dropped in the Perry Post Office, and the U.S. mail system has been stolen and used in a fraud scheme, according to detectives. About 15 to 20 victims in Perry and Houston counties were hit.
Officers have arrested Exivaes Doral Robinson and Kevon Lemond Holmes of Leesburg, Kevontae Demtrius Downs of Sylvester and Diamond Sandrell Byrd of Albany on financial identity fraud and theft charges.
Police said there are still outstanding warrants related to this case for Cory Antonio Thomas, Reshonda Renee Taylor, Lorenzo Oliver James and Gregory D. Jackson, all from Albany. Officials are also seeking Na’Quavus Shannoris Taylor of Leesburg.
