ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - One year after a four-car fire killed 37-year-old Tragarious Robinson, his family says they are still fighting for answers.
The original investigation said only three cars were involved, but it has since been confirmed that there were four.

Robinson’s family gathered at the site where he died, describing it as a painful reminder of their loss. His sister Shakeia Brown said Robinson had always feared dying in a fire.
“Just seeing him like that and knowing that’s the way he went, knowing that he always said if he has to go he doesn’t want to go by being burned, and that’s the way he went,” Brown said.
Robinson’s sisters remember him as a vibrant, loving man who enjoyed photography, music and his community. Sister Ebony Robinson said he gave out food to those in need around Thanksgiving, a tradition the family plans to continue in his honor.
“We want justice. He was a giver. he wasn’t a violent person at all,” Ebony Robinson said.

The family has uncovered ring camera footage they believe shows Robinson inside his car with a passenger moments before the deadly blaze. His mother, Kendra Armstrong, said the footage proves Robinson was not alone.
“She just happened to turn on the camera while he was in the yard, and she was able to record some of him being in the backyard and this is why we do know that he wasn’t alone,” Armstrong said.
Investigators say they are not convinced the grainy image shows a person. Lt. Kawaski Barnes with the Albany Police Department said the video quality has not been substantial enough to change the course of the investigation.
“We looked at some video footage, however the clarity is not the best, so it hasn’t been substantial enough to change the course of the investigation at the moment,” Barnes said.
Armstrong said the family felt the investigation was not thorough, and they have been getting the run around for a year. She said requests for open records were denied and she has been unable to interview the arson investigator about the cause of the fire.
“I went, and I did what I thought I was supposed to do, I asked for the open records, they were denied. I asked for an interview with the arson investigator to find out the cause of the fire, and one year later, we still don’t know. His cause of death was smoke inhalation, and that’s just not acceptable,” Armstrong said.
The family is asking anyone with expertise to “de-pixelate” the video to reach out at 229-347-5950, hoping it will bring them clarity and closer to the truth.
