Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Restaurant Roundup Week 7 featured Mr. A’s restaurant, owned by Ansley Pierce in Sasser.
Mr. A’s Restaurant opened in Jan. 2026 and offers an extensive menu, including breakfast items like waffles, pancakes, sausage, and eggs, along with lunch and dinner menu items like steaks, potatoes, fish, and shrimp, to name a few.

Before entering the restaurant and food industry, Pierce spent his entire career in the construction industry until he retired about 10 to 12 years ago.
When Pierce first discovered the building where Mr. A’s is located, he knew it would be the best location to have a coffee and home cooking restaurant.
“We’ve had tremendous reception in the community, everybody is so glad to have a restaurant that they can come to and get almost any kind of food... We have steak nights on Friday night, we have fish night on Saturday night, and it’s really been a big hit. ”
Mr. A’s is open 6 days a week, offering an array of different food types that require specific storage. Most days they are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday, they are open from 6 a.m. all the way up until 9 p.m. Operating long hours could put a strain on the staff; however, Pierce is confident in their ability to maintain health standards.
“The main reason we can do it is because we’ve got the professional help that we do to be able to serve almost any type of food. They have been in the food business for quite a few years,” says Pierce.

One of the main reasons why Pierce and his team were able to receive a perfect score on their inspection was their daily morning meeting.
“We have a meeting every morning when I first get there... and we discuss things that may have gone wrong or problems we have... It’s like a family operation; we all work together to perform the tasks that we have.”
Although Mister A’s has been open for less than two months, they have exciting plans for the future. Pierce says, “As we speak, we are working on making the seating area for the dining room about three times the size that we have now. And we are also upgrading and making the kitchen larger”.
Pierce hopes to continue to grow his business, and he expresses gratitude to community members who have been so supportive during this new phase.
“We’ve come a long way in a short time, and we just really, really appreciate the local people that have helped us. We’ve had neighbors and friends that have come and helped when we’ve had a fish fry... It’s just awesome the way we have been treated here.”
