SEATTLE (KOMO) — Employees have been left in the lurch after the new owner of a Seattle sandwich shop stopped showing up to work and his staff stopped receiving paychecks.
On Friday, a sign was taped to the front door of HoneyHole Sandwiches, saying it was closed and apologizing for the inconvenience.
The popular sandwich shop was sold to Evan Bramer earlier this year and former workers who spoke to KOMO said it quickly went downhill. One employee, who asked not to be identified, said food deliveries stopped because bills were not getting paid. That worker also said the staff stopped getting their paychecks.
Employees claimed rent on the building had gone unpaid. KOMO tried to confirm that information and reached out to Timberland Partners, the property manager, but have not received a response.
There was an attempt by some staff members to file a missing person report, according to Seattle police, but it was never completed and there is currently no missing person investigation.
Attempts to reach Bramer were unsuccessful.
