Description
ATLANTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Four years after a brutal murder in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park, there’s a new incentive for anyone with information to come forward.
In July 2021, Katie Janness was found dead near the park entrance at 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive NE.
Janness had more than 40 stab wounds. Her dog, Bowie, was found stabbed to death nearby.
Four years later, police have not made any arrests.
Crime Stoppers increased the reward for information in the case to up to $25,000. It was previously $10,000.
Atlanta police said their investigation is still active, now focused mostly on DNA evidence.
Anyone with information leading to the arrest and indictment of a suspect is asked to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers by calling (404) 577-8477, filing an online report or texting “CSGA” and the tip to 738477.
