Description

WASHINGTON, (WALB) - The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for a ground beef product that may be contaminated with metal.

The alert, announced by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), applies to 16-ounce vacuum-packed packages labeled “WHITE OAK PASTURES, RADICALLY TRADITIONAL FARMING, GRASSFED GROUND BEEF,” produced on February 26, 2026. The product bears establishment number “EST 34729” and a sell-by date of March 19, 2026.

White Oak Pastures is located in Bluffton, Clay County, Georgia.

Officials say the ground beef was distributed to a distributor and sold at Mom’s Organic Markets locations across Washington, D.C., and several states, including Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

The issue was discovered after the company received two consumer complaints reporting possible metal contamination. While no injuries have been confirmed, FSIS advises anyone concerned about potential injury to contact a healthcare provider.

A recall was not issued because the product is no longer available for purchase. However, officials warn that some packages may still be in consumers’ freezers.

Consumers are urged not to eat the product and instead throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
