CRISP COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Safety drills are set to resume at Crisp County Schools next week, school officials said.
They said that throughout this school year, various safety drills will take place. Those include fire drills, intruder lockdown drills and severe weather drills.
The school system said that Crisp County High School will undergo an intruder lockdown drill on Monday, Sept. 29. Crisp County Schools Early Learning Academy will have an intruder drill on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
In these drills, students and staff will practice securing classroom doors, turning off the lights and remaining quiet in designated safe places.
School leaders released the following statement:
“The CCSS understands that mentioning these drills can be unsettling, but we hope that knowing we practice our safety plans will be reassuring to you. We are committed to providing a secure and supportive environment for all students.”
If you have further questions about these drills, you can contact your child’s school directly.
