BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - Students in Bainbridge return to school on Wednesday, January 7, prompting a reminder for drivers to stay alert as traffic increases and school buses return to area roads.
Officials say motorists should expect heavier traffic during morning and afternoon commutes and are urging drivers to slow down, especially in school zones.

Drivers are reminded that yellow flashing lights on a school bus indicate the bus is slowing down and preparing to stop. Red flashing lights mean the bus has stopped, and drivers must come to a complete stop until the lights stop flashing and all children and pedestrians are safely out of the roadway.
Officials encourage drivers to allow extra time for travel this week and to remain cautious to help ensure students arrive at school safely.
