VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - New details have been released after portions of I-75 in Valdosta were shut down for hours following an early morning crash.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), troopers responded Tuesday, April 28, to a single-vehicle crash on I-75 near the 17 mile marker. Investigators say a blue International semi-truck was traveling north in the center lane when it swerved left for an unknown reason.

Officials say the semi struck the guardrail, went through it, crossed into the southbound lanes of I-75, and overturned. The truck then rotated before coming to a final rest facing south in the center and left southbound lanes.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic was heavily impacted for several hours before lanes were reopened. The crash remains under investigation.
