COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left two men injured early Sunday morning.

According to CCSO officials, the incident happened shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Highway 221 near the 17 Mile River bridge.

Both men were transported to Coffee Regional Medical Center in Douglas for treatment.

Multiple shell casings were found at the scene on the bridge. The vehicle the two men were in was located and showed several bullet holes.

Details remain limited at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

No information about the suspect or suspects has been released.
