TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A grieving son will spend his 21st birthday processing the loss of his mother, Sheena Kenon, one of three victims in a string of homicides uncovered by police last week.

Thaiyon Cloud said he spoke with his mother just one day before learning she had been killed. Kenon was fatally shot near the Apalachicola Public Range in Leon County, according to investigators.

Cloud said he is still processing the loss as he plans his mother’s funeral just days before his birthday, which he had planned to celebrate with her.

“She was a God-fearing woman,” Cloud said. “Everybody she was around, she touched them in some way. She could walk into a room and light the whole room up.”

Investigators say 54-year-old Flay Rollins shot Kenon multiple times. Rollins has been charged with three counts of murder, two in Leon County and one in Lowndes County, Georgia.

Investigators say the killings occurred within a 24 to 48-hour period.

Prosecutors confirmed Rollins had previously been accused of trying to kill Kenon.

Court records show he was arrested in 2018 after an argument at Kenon’s apartment, where police say he stabbed her in the back and fled the scene.

Kenon was from Gadsden County and lived in Tallahassee. Her family has raised about 60% of the funds needed for her funeral.
