ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in a wooded area on Whispering Pines Road, officials said.

The woman’s body was found behind the Move Christian Church, located in the 1400 block of Whispering Pines Road, according to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler.

Albany Police tells WALB that while no foul play is suspected, the death is “suspicious.”

Coroner Fowler said he was called out to the scene at around 6:45 p.m. The woman was pronounced dead at around 7:13 p.m., he said.

Right now, the investigation is in the early stages, according to officials.
