Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — Drivers in Albany should be aware of a temporary road closure starting this week. Beginning Thursday, July 18, Booker Alley on the North Jackson Street side will be closed for construction related to the Combined Sewer Stormwater Separation Project.
According to city officials, the closure is expected to last approximately four weeks or until the project is completed. While the closure should not directly impact southbound traffic on North Jackson Street, drivers are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the area due to increased construction activity.
The stormwater separation project is part of Albany’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and reduce flooding risks in the area.
Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and remain alert to construction signage and crews working nearby.
