ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Carter Center announced that a new documentary about President Jimmy Carter will be released later this year. The documentary will showcase one of the former president’s biggest accomplishments.

The documentary, titled “The President and the Dragon,” reportedly highlights Carter’s work to eradicate Guinea Worm Disease in third world countries.

The film is said to show how the president worked with health professionals to reduce the number of cases worldwide from over 3 million in 1986 to just 15 last year.

The release date of the documentary is set for Oct. 1, 2025, which would have been Carter’s 101st birthday.
