Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - September 13 is a special day for South Georgians because we’re celebrating National Peanut Day!
Whether you like them salted, boiled or in an ice-cold Coca-Cola, peanuts are ingrained in Georgia’s culture and our history.
South Georgia is home to both the Georgia Peanut Commission in Tifton and the country’s only peanut-farming president, Jimmy Carter, who was born and raised in Plains.
Take this as your sign to snack on some peanuts today!
