TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - The suspect in a convenience store armed robbery is still on the run Monday, Nov. 17, officials said.

The armed robbery occurred around 9:55 a.m. Monday at the Eldorado food mart on Highway 41 in Tift County, according to the sheriff’s office. The robber fled on foot in the Eldorado area at Interstate 75 Exit 55.

The Tift County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) described the suspect described as being an African American male, approximately 6’ tall and weighing about 250 pounds. Deputies searched the area around I-75 exit 55 and Tifton Eldorado Road but did not make an arrest.

TCSO said no one was injured in the armed robbery. The incident report indicates the suspect used a firearm to intimidate and rob the store.

The amount of money that was taken from the store is unknown at this time. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the TCSO at 229-388-6090.
