CORDELE, Ga. (WALB) — Two Cordele men entered guilty pleas and are set to be sentenced in a global fentanyl trafficking ring, officials announced Wednesday, July 8.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office Middle District of Georgia, the investigation involved the Homeland Security Task Force, FBI and United States Postal Inspection.

Authorities said Andreaus Benard Oliver, Sr., also known as Donnie Oliver, 43, and Andreaus Benard Oliver, Jr., also known as Dray Oliver, 27, both of Cordele, face sentencing in federal prison on August 6 after entering guilty pleas in April.

Oliver, Sr. pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. He could be sentenced up to 30 years in prison and face a $2 million fine.

Oliver, Jr. also pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine.

Their guilty pleas all stem from a fentanyl trafficking operation that included moving illegal drugs from inside prison. It involved bringing a synthetic drug from China into the United States.

Officials said the organization moved 2,610 fentanyl pills and 5,502 grams of synthetic cannabinoid.
