WORTH COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Two people were sent to the hospital after a semi-truck and pickup truck collided in Sylvester.

Assistant Fire Chief Casey Chapman said the crash happened around 10:37 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 112 (N. Main Street) and Highway 33 (E. Franklin Street) near T.C. Jeffords Park on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

First responders arrived to find one passenger trapped inside the pickup truck and quickly extracted them from the vehicle.

Chapman says two people were sent to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The chief added all four lanes will be closed until around 1:00 p.m. as Georgia State Patrol investigates what led up to the crash.
