TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) released an update on a deadly shooting in Tifton.

The GBI said the investigation showed no foul play.

Tift County Deputy Coroner Blair Veazey confirmed the incident occurred on Birch Drive. The GBI confirmed 68-year-old Larry Johnson was shot to death and pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson’s body is being taken to the GBI’s Macon crime lab for an autopsy.

The GBI said the results of the autopsy will be provided to the investigators and Johnson’s family.

The events leading to the shooting are limited at this time. WALB has reached out to officials to get more information on what led to the shooting and the identification of the victim.
