SYLVESTER, Ga. (WALB) - [UPDATE: April 7, @11:40 a.m.] Sylvester Fire Department Chief Colby says the fire is believed to be accidental and originated in the kitchen.
At this time, officials say the home is no longer livable.
There were no injuries reported, and no investigation is underway.
[ORIGINAL ARTICLE] - The Sylvester Police Department is asking drivers to avoid the area of West Railroad and Atlantic Street as crews respond to a structure fire.
Police said the Sylvester Fire Department and Sylvester Police Department were on scene and requested the public stay away so first responders can work.
The fire was reported on Monday, April 6, around 9 p.m.
