VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — The Valdosta Police Department is alerting residents to a phone scam in which callers impersonate officers, claiming victims must pay fines to clear warrants or citations.
The calls may appear to come from the VPD’s official number. Authorities emphasize they never request payments over the phone.
Residents are urged not to return scam calls or share personal or financial information.
For legitimate inquiries, contact VPD directly at 229-242-2606 or visit in person. Stay vigilant and help spread awareness.
