Description

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) — The Valdosta Police Department (VPD) reportedly arrested a man on Jan. 19 after he barricaded himself in an apartment. VPD announced the arrest on Jan. 22.

Quashawn Lamar Little, 26, was arrested after police say he took a rifle from a vehicle at Hudson Dockett Homes. According to the owner of the rifle, Little pointed the rifle at him and demanded money.

VPD then got a call about an armed man entering an apartment in Hudson Dockett, according to a press release. Officers then confirmed that the man connected to both calls was Little, who had several active arrest warrants, VPD said.

When officers arrived at the apartment, Little threatened to have a shoot-out with officers, VPD said. Little also reportedly falsely claimed that he had a woman hostage in the apartment.

After three hours, at 6 p.m., Little exited the residence in accordance with VPD orders.

Following his arrest, Little was taken to the Lowndes County Jail on the following charges, VPD said:

  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (felony)
  • Obstruction of an officer (misdemeanor)
  • Robbery (felony)
  • Aggravated battery (felony)
  • Plus eight other active arrest warrants unrelated to this case.
