VALDOSTA, Ga. (WCTV) - Valdosta police are asking the public’s help in looking for a man accused of abusing his three-week-old twin children, according to a VPD press release.

Freddie Moore, 27, is wanted for aggravated battery and two counts of cruelty toward children in the first degree, according to police.

The twins’ mother, Makayla June Bradley, 23, was arrested a week ago on two counts of cruelty toward children in the first degree, according to officials.

Police say an investigation into the couple began a week ago when law enforcement responded to a call at the South Georgia Medical Center about a case of possible child abuse. While at the hospital, investigators were informed about two three-week-old infants receiving treatment at the facility.

“[Officers] were told that one of the twins was dehydrated, malnourished, and had several broken bones, including a fractured skull,” according to the VPD press release.

One of the children was in critical condition while the other “appeared to have superficial injuries,” officials said.

Investigators learned that other family members brought the children and their mother to the pediatrician after they noticed “that one of the twins was not acting right and did not have a normal appearance,” officials said.

While at the pediatrician, it was determined that one of the children was in critical condition and needed specialized treatment, according to law enforcement. The infant was then life-flighted to a Florida pediatric hospital.

“Detectives received information that some of the injuries to the infant were healing, leading them to believe they had occurred over some time,” according to the VPD press release.

According to police, one of the twins has been released from the hospital while the other is in stable but critical condition.

Now, investigators are asking for help in finding the infants’ father, whose location is unknown.

“Detectives have attempted to make contact with Moore on several occasions, but he will not cooperate with the investigation,” according to the press release.

VPD Chief Leslie Manahan noted the troubling nature of the case and called on the public to help find Moore.

“The injuries that these poor babies had were horrific. The fact that someone could harm small children in this manner is unimaginable,” Manahan said. “We hope that citizens will help us find this abuser, so he can be held accountable for his actions.”

People with knowledge of Moore’s whereabouts should call 911, according to Valdosta police.
