ATKINSON COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – [UPDATE 4:15 P.M.] The water service has been restored, according to city officials. Pearson is now under a boil water advisory, the city announced.
The city said that the boil water advisory will remain in effect until further notice for all residents and businesses within the city. Pearson officials say this advisory is a precautionary measure.
Residents should:
- Boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or washing dishes.
- Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one full minute before using.
- Use bottled water if boiling is not possible.

A major water line break near Relihan Funeral Home has temporarily shut off water service in parts of Atkinson County.
County officials say crews are already on site working to repair the line as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible.
