ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A teen was arrested and charged with assault after a west Albany home was shot up multiple times, according to the Albany Police Department.

Police say the home on the 1400 block of Jones Avenue, just a few blocks off W Gordon Avenue near West Town Park, was shot up on different days with people still inside.

However, no one was injured in the shootings.

This prompted detectives to search a nearby home on W. Waddell Avenue, where they found an assault rifle, additional gun parts and accessories, along with “gang paraphernalia.”

As a result, 17-year-old Jaelyn Wiley was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony on Oct. 15.

APD says more people may be arrested in the case.

Anyone with information on these shootings is urged to contact APD’s Criminal Investigative Bureau at 229-302-0756, or Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS.
