SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - [UPDATE 2:34 p.m. 7/4/2025] The family of Oglethorpe Mall violence victim Olislene “Tina” Smith has shared a photo of Tina with WTOC to honor her memory.

[UPDATE 1:44 p.m. 7/4/2025] The Eicholz Law Firm has issued a statement regarding the passing of Olislene “Tina” Smith after she suffered heart complications stemming from the Oglethorpe Mall shooting. It is included below and can also be found on the Eicholz Law Firm website:

SAVANNAH, GA (July 4, 2025) — The Eichholz Law Firm is deeply saddened to share that Olislene “Tina” Smith, a victim of the violence that occurred Wednesday at the Oglethorpe Mall, has passed away. Tina Smith was shopping at the mall when the shooting occurred and suffered a medical emergency at the scene. She was transported from the mall to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where she passed away last night.

Tina Smith was the wife of Roscoe Smith and a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was devout in her faith and loved Jesus Christ.

Smith was also the aunt of The Eichholz Law Firm’s general manager, Erica Scriven. The Smith family is represented by the firm’s managing partner, Fatima Zeidan, Esq. The family has requested privacy as it grieves and will not be speaking with the media at this time.

[ORIGINAL STORY] Olislene “Tina” Smith has passed away due to heart complications she suffered during the Oglethorpe Mall shooting on July 2, according to the Savannah Police Department.

The SPD says they will be “working closely with the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days to determine appropriate charges and to whom.”

Previously, the SPD said they would charge two juveniles who were hospitalized after the Oglethorpe Mall shooting with possession of a firearm under the age of 18.

Savannah Mayor Van Johnson has also released a statement on Smith’s passing.

The family is understandably asking for privacy at this time.
