Join us at the Albany Area Arts Council’s Carnegie Library for the opening reception of Collegium: A Georgia Southwestern State University Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition.

A Collegium is “A group in which each member has approximately equal power and authority, working together collaboratively for the common good.” This exhibition provides an overview of the diverse creative practice of Georgia Southwestern State University's Visual Arts faculty. The title of this show describes well the community and culture of the program; seeing each other more as family than colleagues, they are able to nurture, challenge, and encourage each other in both the classroom and studio. The Department of Visual Art at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) maintains a tradition of providing high-quality training in studio art across an array of disciplines, including Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing and Painting, Glass, Photography, Printmaking and Sculpture.

The opening reception will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026. 6-8 p.m at 215 N. Jackson St., Albany, GA 31701.

The exhibition will be on view September 3, 2026 -October 29, 2026, during gallery hours, Monday–Thursday, 12–4 PM (or by appointment)
