WORTH COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — A man died Monday, March 2, following a house fire in Bridgeboro, officials confirmed.
The man’s identity has not been released yet, Coroner Jimmy Nelms said, as his next of kin have not been notified. Nelms said the man lived alone.
Nelms said the house was on State Route 112 South in Worth County. He said the fire started at about 4:15 p.m. Monday.
Nelms said he could not provide further details but confirmed the man’s body is being taken to Macon to be examined at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Central Lab.
The cause of the fire has not yet been reported.
