ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A 15-year-old boy was taken into custody Sunday, Aug. 9, after a police pursuit ended in a crash in the 1000 block of South McKinley Street, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).

Officers initially responded to the 1600 block of Whispering Pines Road after a vehicle fired multiple shots at a residence. Police said no injuries were reported in that shooting.

The vehicle was located and became involved in a pursuit at about 4:30 p.m. with Georgia State Patrol (GSP). The chase ended when the vehicle crashed after getting a flat tire in the 1000 block of South McKinley Street, GSP said.

The 15-year-old was taken into custody following the crash, according to police. GSP said a firearm was found inside the stolen 2013 KIA Optima that the teen was driving.
