DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Dougherty County Police Department is investigating a deadly Wednesday morning crash.
The crash happened around 9:10 a.m. at the intersection of Liberty Expressway S.E. and Nelms Road near the Dollar General.
Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler has confirmed that a 20-year-old Alicia Cunningham, who was driving a red 2025 Toyota Corolla, was killed after being struck by a dump truck.
The preliminary investigation indicates that Cunningham was traveling west on Nelms Road and attempted to cross Liberty Expressway when she failed to yield the right of way and was hit by the dump truck.
Cunningham sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges are expected against the driver of the dump truck.
