SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Twenty-five people were hospitalized after a Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam experienced "significant turbulence" while en route.
Delta said flight DL56 was diverted to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport for an emergency landing.
The aircraft, an Airbus A330-900, landed safely and was met by medical teams upon arrival to be examined, according to a Delta statement.
The injured were transported to area hospitals for evaluation and care.
"We are grateful for the support of all emergency responders involved," Delta said. "Safety is our No. 1 value at Delta, and our Delta Care Team is working directly with customers to support their immediate needs."
