TIFT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A Tift County Commissioner was appointed to the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training Council (POST).

Tift County Commissioner Stan Stalnaker was sworn into the Georgia POST Council by Governor Brian Kemp on July 25, according to a release by Tift County.

“Commissioner Stalnaker is deserving of this appointment and will serve the State of Georgia and Tift County well.”

The purpose of the Georgia POST Council is to ensure that only qualified and well-trained persons are employed and remain employed as peace officers in the area.
