Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany Police (APD) responded to shots being fired at an Albany Airbnb on Aug. 30. Officials said no injuries were reported.
Three individuals were arrested at the scene and now face several charges, APD said. Their names are Charity Flower, Nathan Godwin and Carlton Walton.
All three were charged with possession of marijuana and intent to distribute. Walton was additionally charged with possession of a firearm and driving with a suspended license.
The Airbnb was in the 2700 block of Cambridge Road.
APD Chief Michael Persley said incidents like this are occurring more often as more rental properties become available in the area.
“When you start to see Airbnbs pop up, it’s a nice thing, but when these private residencies are being used for parties that are getting out of hand, we’re starting to see [incidents like this].”
A stolen vehicle was also left at the Airbnb, according to APD. Police said they believe the vehicle was left behind by someone who fled the scene after police arrived.
The vehicle was reportedly stolen from Stockbridge, Georgia.
