CLAY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Chief Deputy Sonnie Wallace Jr. is retiring from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office after nearly 30 years of service.
Wallace began his career with the agency in 1996.
The sheriff’s office said Wallace is leaving a lasting impact on the department and the community. The agency said it is grateful for his decades of service and wishes him and his family health, happiness, and a well-deserved retirement.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a reception for Wallace at the Clay County Courthouse on Washington Street on June 15, 2026, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
