VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - An ambulance transporting a patient was involved in a crash on GA 31 in Lowndes County on Saturday, March 28, according to Georgia State Patrol.
A white Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south on GA 31 when it attempted to make a U-turn in front of a South Georgia Medical Center ambulance. The ambulance was traveling south behind the Malibu in non-emergency mode, transporting a patient to Madison, Florida.
The front bumper of the ambulance struck the Malibu in the driver front fender. The Malibu rotated and struck the passenger side of the ambulance, according to GSP.
The driver and passenger of the Malibu were transported to SGMC with complaint of injuries. The EMT in the rear with the patient and the patient in the ambulance were also transported to SGMC for complaint of minor injuries.
According to GSP, the driver of the Malibu was charged with improper U-turn.
