ATLANTA Ga. (WALB) - South Georgia journalist, Karla Heath-Sands was inducted into the Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame on Friday, March 27, at the Emory Conference Hotel Center in Atlanta.

Heath-Sands has spent 29 years at WALB, building a career centered on storytelling, service and connection to South Georgia communities.
In her speech Friday night, Heath-Sands described her career as a “Godsend” and pointed to prayer and her faith as what sustained her through the highs and lows of the industry.
Heath-Sands was inducted alongside Dee Armstrong, Dawn Baker and Ed Hula.
