COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced July 1 that the Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit arrested a 60-year-old man for drug possession with the intent to distribute.

CCSO said the man is Glen Merrill, whose arrest comes after a month-long investigation. Drug agents searched Merrill’s residence on June 24 and found suspected methamphetamine and digital scales which suggested distribution, according to a CCSO press release.

CCSO said they later saw Merrill riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle, and they stopped the vehicle and arrested Merrill without incident.

Merrill had two active arrest warrants in addition to his charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, CCSO said.

Merrill was taken to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, the sheriff’s office said.
