Description
RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Several churches in Randolph County were vandalized, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) said Friday, June 12. Officials said air conditioning units were damaged or left with parts stolen from the church buildings.
RCSO did not specify how many churches were affected, but the sheriff’s office said deputies are working to check as many churches as possible for signs of damage.
This comes as the heat index for parts of South Georgia reaches 105 degrees, making air conditioning vital.

RCSO encouraged churchgoers to check their church property and to report any damage or theft they notice.
“If you notice damaged AC units, missing parts or any suspicious activity at a church, please contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately,” RCSO said in a Facebook post. “Even if you’re simply passing by a church and observe something unusual, don’t hesitate to report it.”
The sheriff’s office can be contacted at 229-732-2525.
