ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — A fire burning in downtown Albany is producing heavy smoke and low visibility in the surrounding area, Albany Fire Chief Cedric Scott said.
Fire crews were called to the scene around approximately 10:30 Sunday, Aug. 16.
The fire is located near the intersection of West Roosevelt Avenue and North Jackson Street. Chief Scott said the smoke has reduced visibility in the area.
Residents are asked to avoid the area until the smoke has dissipated.
